Google enhances Gemini with live videos and other news

On the occasion of the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona Google presented two new features based on artificial intelligence that will be integrated into Android devices starting from the end of the current month. The first of these is “live video”. The technology, already anticipated during the Google I/O 2024 event last May, exploits Gemini’s multimodal skills, Google’s artificial intelligence model. “Live Video” allows users to use the camera of their smartphone to show Gemini the surrounding environment. In a practical demonstration, Gemini was able to answer a question concerning the modernist furniture of the middle of the last century and to provide relevant suggestions on the application of these aesthetic principles to ceramic.

The second feature introduced is the sharing of the screen. This option allows users to share with Gemini what is displayed on the display of their device, allowing the AI ​​model to answer questions relating to the content of websites or applications. The implementation of “live video” and the sharing of the screen will begin at the end of the current month for subscribers to Gemini Advanced. This premium service is included in the Google One Plan to the Premium, available at a cost of $ 20 per month.
