Meta has enabled the ‘teenagers’ accounts for Instagramin Latin America, an alternative with which it seeks to give greater protection to minors, and points to countries such as Argentina, Brazil and Mexico.
This alternative seeks to protect the youngest of inappropriate content or unwanted interactions. In addition, it points to a safe and responsible digital exploration.
The difference with respect to other accounts, says an Infobae report, is that these accounts are automatically private for all users under 16 years of age.
Even teenagers must approve their followers. It also includes restrictions on messaging and can only have approved followers contact, or have constant contact.
Instagram will also require the explicit permission of parents to make changes in these security settings. They can monitor their children’s interactions.
On the other hand, parents can establish time limits. If a teenager exceeds, Instagram will block access to the platform until the next day.
