A group of scientists use AI to detect easier method to form quantum puppet (also known as quantum entanglement) between atomic particles, pave the way for simpler quantum technology, Live Science On March 5 reported. When particles such as photons are tangled, they can share quantum characteristics, including information, regardless of the distance between them. This phenomenon is very important in quantum physics, which is one of the characteristics that make the quantum computer extremely strong.
But the formation of quantum puppet links is often a challenge for scientists. This is because it requires the preparation of two separate puppets, then measuring the intensity of the puppet, called the Bell status measurement on the photon from each pair. The measurement caused the quantum system to collapse and caused two phrotons to not get into each other, although they never interact directly with each other. The process of “fraudulent confusion” can be used for quantum transfer.
In research published in the magazine Physical Review Lettersscientists use Pytheus, AI tools specialized to design quantum optical experiments. The initial group of authors intended to renew the protocol for quantum exchange in quantum communication. However, AI tools continue to create a much simpler method to gain quantum tangles with photons. The team can train neurological networks based on a complex data file describing how to set up experiments in many different conditions and this network actually learns the physical mechanism behind.
AI tools propose tangled phenomenon that may appear due to not being able to distinguish the flight routes of the photons. When there are several feasible photons and cannot distinguish their origin, they can create tangles between them. Although the researchers initially suspected the results, the tool continued to come up with the same solution when they tested the hypotheses. Through adjustment of phroton sources and ensuring that they cannot distinguish them, the physical expert group creates conditions in which the detection of phrotons on a certain route helps ensure two other photons are tangled. This breakthrough in quantum physics helps simplify the process of forming quantum puppet. In the future, it can facilitate the use of quantum network to give safety information. New discovery also provides convincing examples of AI as a research tool for physicists.
