The artificial intelligence system that will support the security forces emotionally
Since the events of October 7 as well as the ongoing fighting, the dimensions of the impact and the heavy mental cost of the events and the rescue forces that stand every day on the front. A new system developed, seeking to address the growing numbers of those heroes, through the use of artificial intelligence tools.

The system has been developed as part of the annual Greatminds Hackaton competition, which is held by the Entrepreneurship Center Schreiber Lev-Tech of the Academic Center for this ninth time. As part of the 48 hours of the competition, participants faced complex technological challenges, which placed leading companies and organizations in the Israeli economy, including Rafael, Intel, NICE and more. The system in question was developed by the five members of the GUARDIANSPERE Group, all computer science students and software engineering at the Lev Academic Center, as a challenging part of a rescue union organization.

“Since the war broke out, there are many volunteers and rescue forces who are in continuous trauma, and many do not treat themselves,” the group members note.

The system developed by members of the group includes a boutique AI that can be talked about a therapist standard. “The system is trained based on established articles of experienced experts in treating similar problems as well as on the basis of real cases,” the group members explain.

The system works both in correspondence and voice conversation, in order to have a comprehensive response and each user can choose the way that is convenient for it. “There are also videos and monitoring of treatments. The goal that will eventually come to real treatment, so the system directs them at the end of the conversation to human professionals,” the group members emphasize, “the use of the system is completely anonymous, to prevent fear of exposure, and the system is classified by the type of users – rescue, medicine, etc.”

The group members also emphasize that a major and important part of the system is the existence of communities to which users can join, where they can talk to groups of volunteers and activists from the same field. “The purpose of the communities for manufacturing a support network is known as one of the significant things that help in such mental distress cases,” they note.

Doors Meisel, director of innovation in the rescue union who initiated the challenge, notes that “this is an exciting and breakthrough step in the field of mental health. Through advanced artificial intelligence and supportive communities, we provide the security and rescue forces an essential tool for dealing with the unique mental challenges they face. This system is no longer an app, is a holistic solution that combines our deep knowledge of trauma with the most advanced technology, allowing us to offer immediate and more efficient mental support, “he concludes.
