The world’s most powerful non -hydraulic robotic arm

Rise Robotics, a company in Somerville, Massachusetts, is developing the most powerful non-hydraulic robot arm in the world to challenge the record belonging to the Fanuc’s M-2000ia/2300 lift machine, capable of lifting 2,300 kg, Interesting Engineering On March 12 reported. Instead of relying on hydraulic as usual, Rise Robotics uses a different method with the belt and pulley.

At first glance, this system looks like today’s high -pressure hydraulic systems. Called “Beltdraulic”, this technology does not need hydraulic liquid but rely on electric motor to roll and remove the belt inside the pillar, the part that the company calls Beltcylinder.

In the video shared by Rise Robotics, the Superjammer robotic arm proves its huge power when raising 2,930 kg of goods to a height of 4.6 m before swaying the block of goods back and forth. This impressive achievement exceeds the record that Fanuc is holding up to 635 kg, turning Superjammer into a formidable opponent before setting the official record.

Operating all with electricity, Beltdraulic is not emissions and environmentally friendly. Its advanced wire -powered system helps electricity or fuel consumption decrease by 65 – 90%, making it an effective alternative to traditional hydraulic equipment and other lifting systems. This system is ready to integrate into many complete automatic machines. Beltdraulic’s transmission system is extremely durable, designed to survive the life of the machine, according to Rise Robotics.

The Rise Robotics lifting system only needs minimum maintenance, eliminating common problems such as pipe breaks, soil extrusion and repair time, common in the hydraulic system. This type of robot arm design not only enhances reliability but also reduces costs. The company said the Beltdraulic system provides operators to control the capacity more accurately for the sector and motion, minimizing the ragging and spilling.

Instead of using sliding slots to look up oil, the robotic arm uses the bar mechanism to save costs through extending the time between the repair. The Beltdraulic system also operates 3 times faster than the usual hydraulic system.
