EA Sports FC announces the integration of Franz Beckenbauer, the historical figure of international football, as an icon in FC 25. This addition follows that of Diego Maradona, which took place previously during the year. Beckenbauer, absent from the franchise since 2016, is part of the corking legends roster which includes, among others, David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldinho, Paolo Maldini and Gerd Müller. Beckenbauer will be introduced in FUT as a basic icon, as part of the “UEFA Dreamchasers” campaign. An additional promotional version will be released later, on April 4, as part of the “Fut Immortals” campaign.
Starting from 10 March, Beckenbauer has been included in the Classic XI training, in the role of defender, and also players will have the opportunity to embark on a player career by impersonating him, simulating his entire professional trajectory. Franz Beckenbauer’s career is characterized by numerous clubs and national hits, including three consecutive victories in the Champions League, two golden balls and a world championship. These goals help to define its icon status within the game.
