The 2024/25 season of University Esports Italy has reached the crucial phases, With the Grand Finals ready to decree the new national champions in the popular Valarant and League of Legends titles. After three qualifying rounds that saw the participation of numerous university students from all over Italy, the best eight teams for each game qualified for the imminent playoffs.
This weekend will be dedicated to the challenges of the playoffs, which will determine the finalist teams for the Grand Finals. On Saturday 29 March the Valrant playoffs will be held, followed on Sunday 30 March by those of the League of Legends. The matches will be broadcast live on the official competition channel of the competitionoffering spectators the opportunity to closely follow the action and strategies of the teams in the run.
Among the four qualified teams for the Valrant playoffs, well -known names stand out like ‘Unipizza ‘(University of Pisa) and’ Sapienza ‘(Sapienza University of Rome)the latter returning from the victory in the Grand Final of Split 1. To contend for the other places for the finals there will be ‘Unitonti 2025’ (University of Turin) and ‘Unitorento Esports’ (University of Trento).
The competitive level on League of Legends also promises to be high. ‘Impact Unina’ (University of Naples Federico II)winner of the last split, will try to defend his title. To challenge it for a place in the Grand Finals there will be ‘Pesigod’ (Polytechnic of Milan), ‘Unitn Esports’ (University of Trento) and ‘Unipv – Sgroda Isports’ (University of Pavia).
University Esports Italy’s Grand Finals will be held on the weekend of April 5th and 6thwith the Finals of Valarant and League of Legends respectively on Saturday and Sunday. This final event will represent the culmination of another season full of competitions and training experiences for Italian university students, thanks to the project promoted by GGTech Entertainment and Progaming Italia.
University Esports Italy not only offers students the opportunity to compete in the world of Esports, but also promotes the creation of a University community at national level. During the 2024/25 season, the University Tour initiative brought gaming closest to universities, highlighting the advantages and opportunities that the video game industry can offer for the personal and professional growth of the students.
