Corning has announced a new protective glass for devices Mobile, Gorilla Glass Ceramicthat improves resistance to repeated falls on rough surfaces such as asphalt.
The technological firm has presented a new hob material to help reinforce the resistance of mobile devices, protecting covers and screens housings, as explained in a press release.
Gorilla Glass Ceramic reinforces the devices against falls on rough soils, compared to the aluminosilicate glass of the competition. Specifically, and according to internal tests, it ensures that a device can survive ten falls followed from a meter high on a surface that mimics the asphalt.
With this material, Corning expands its durable roof material portfolio for original equipment manufacturers. Motorola has already confirmed that its devices will integrate this additional protection.
