Applying Brazil, more than 96 km from S outdoor, there is an island like hell because this is the home of some of the most unique snakes in the world. To protect the safety of both humans and animals, the approach to the Snake Island (Ilha Da Queimada Grande) is controlled by the Brazilian Navy. Protecting reptiles on the island is extremely necessary because despite the dangerous venom, the most crowded snake living there is in reality. IFL Science.
Golden -headed cobra (Bothrops insularis) is a species of cobra in the green snake family, along with fish cobra and bell -tailed snake. A bite from the golden -headed cobra contains blood venom, broadcast quickly and can defeat a small prey like a bird within a few minutes. Blood venom is aimed at the circulatory system, creating blood clots, hemorrhage and many other complications. However, despite the deadly danger, blood venom is actually an essential ingredient used in cardiovascular drugs, anticoagulants treatment and in diagnosis. Due to the special validity, the venom of the golden -headed cobra on the snake island is especially valuable.
Although many other spear snakes are found on the mainland in Central America and South America, the golden -headed cobra is only distributed on the snake island. The evolution of this species is thought to take place as a result when the island separated from the mainland Brazil at the end of the last ice, isolating them with abundant amounts of animals and prey. Over 11,000 years, snakes adapted to the island’s environment, becoming a spear -headed snake that lived on the only tree and developed a venom that was 3-5 times stronger than in the mainland species, helping them catch birds to fly faster.
Of the 41 species of birds found on the island, the diet of the gold -headed cobra mainly consists of two species of migrant birds, Elaenia Chile (Elaenia Chilensis) in the end of the summer and the yellow leg (Turdus flavipes) in the winter. Of the 430,000 m2 of soil available on snake islands, gold -headed cobra is only concentrated at 255,000 m2 of dense forests. While the golden root cobra is the most crowded and dangerous species on the island, there are some other snakes living here in smaller quantities such as snail snail Sauvage (Dipsas Albifons).
Snake islands are currently not in permanent people, but there is a lighthouse in the central mountain on the island. This lighthouse was once the residence of a family guard from 1909 to the 1920s. Some reports said the whole family had an accident when the golden -headed cobra came in through the window. Each year only a few researchers are allowed to go to the island but no deaths have been recorded, partly due to the strict Brazilian protection regulations.
