American company wants to set a record of 250 satellites at the same time

Spinlauchch plans to build Meridian Space, a new broadband satellite system, with a number of satellites each time on a rocket up to 250.

Meridian Space will consist of small “satellite” that can launch into low earth orbit, Space On 4/4 reported. Spinlauchch Company has now received $ 12 million from Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace to support the development and commercialization of this satellite system. The first trial launch on the orbit is expected to take place in 2026.

Meridian Space will provide “broadband flow in the satellite system significantly higher than what is available in the market”, according to Eirik Lie, president of Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace. David Wrenn, CEO of Spinlauchch, adds that Nanoavionics’s small satellite satellite platforms provide reliable facilities to quickly expand the size of the satellite system.

Spinlauchch also shared the image of Meridian Space satellite lottery placed on a zoom vehicle. These flat satellites seem to be stacked on top of each other, showing how the company intends to place 250 pieces on a single missile.

If Spinlauchch successfully launches 250 satellites at the same time, they will set a new record for the number of satellite in a single flight. The current record is 143 established by SpaceX in Transportter-1 mission in 2021.

It is unclear whether Spinlauchch will self -release satellites to test in 2026 with its giant centrifugal machine or use another missile. The company is developing a 33 -meter -long rotating arm to increase the rocket to extremely high speed inside the centrifugal machine before “throwing” them into the sky. When a certain height is, the missiles will fire the engine. This launch helps to significantly reduce the amount of fuel and hardware needed to reach orbit.

In 2022, NASA signed an agreement with Spinlauchch about a technology show, in which experiments from this agency, Airbus and Cornell University were launched into a near -sighted space with centrifuges.
