JBL highlights the good data of the Spanish market, with growth of 14% in portable speakers and 17% in partybox

The audio company JBL has highlighted the good reception that its products have in the Spanish market, especially in the party and portable speaker categories, and that it intends to replicate with the new products that will arrive at the end of the year, such as the Partybox 720, the JBL Boombox 4 portable and the Soundgear CLIPS headphones.

At a time when consumption, in general, is being affected by wars, tariffs and other macroeconomic situations, JBL has highlighted market data in Spain in the categories of Portables (portable speakers), Partybox (party speakers), ‘Headphones’ (headphones) and ‘Gaming’ (for video games) so far in 2025.

The data, shared by the sales director for southern Europe at Harman International, Fernando Manero, shows a growth of 14.3 percent in laptops, compared to the 1.8 percent drop experienced in Europe. Here the company has “important leadership” in this country, where it has shares above 50 percent.

The growth is most notable in the Partybox category, where it reaches 16.8 percent, with shares above 70 percent, and even the European market manages to achieve growth of 2.1 percent.

Regarding headphones, where JBL is “the number one audio brand”, as Manero has indicated, growth in Spain rises to 7 percent, reaching shares of 11 percent, compared to 1.5 percent growth in Europe; while in ‘gaming’, where they have only been offering a product for 4 or 5 years, they have already reached shares of 6%, with a growth of 1.4 percent (in Europe it has fallen 6%).

“Being the most important company in the world in audio, it is very important for us to be able to maintain that leadership”, something they do through the search for innovation, people who help continue developing and constant active listening, as explained by the head of Marketing in Southern Europe at Harman International, Javier de Cabo.

They apply all of this to their five main categories, which allows them to “continue setting the pace for new generations” with portable speakers and opt for “much more premium products” in the Headphones category.

In gaming products they offer “a much more immersive experience”, while in Home Audio, which includes speakers and sound bars, they are not limited to the JBL brand but also to Harman Kardon.

De Cabo has highlighted party speakers. It is “a category that we have practically developed ourselves,” he noted, pointing out features such as sound and lighting, but also the creation of an ecosystem that allows them to “bring festival rhythms and festival environments directly to homes.”

THE NEW PRODUCTS THAT ARRIVE

JBL has shared market data on the occasion of the presentation of the new products that hit the market in the last quarter of the year, starting with the new JBL Partybox 720 speaker, which offers an output power of 800 watts thanks to its two 9-inch woofers and two 30mm dome tweeters.

The design of this speaker has been improved so that the wheels are more robust and the handle improves grip, in order to facilitate transportation. It is resistant to splashes of water and offers 15 hours of playback with its replaceable batteries, which are sold separately. In addition, it supports connection with several brand speakers with Auracast technology.

In ‘gaming’, the company has presented the Quantum 250, Quantum 650 and Quantum 950 headband headphones framed in a redesign of the logo.

All three models have spatial audio, but only the entry model, the Quantum 250, has a 3.5mm jack port connection, because the other two are wireless. The most advanced model, the 950, also features adaptive noise cancellation.

They also offer the possibility of customizing their design through the pads, the outer covers of the headphones and the microphone.

The range of portable speakers brings the new JBL Grip and JBL Boombox 4. The former offers up to 14 hours of music playback, a water and dust resistant design inspired by a drink can for easy grip and ambient lighting.

JBL Boombox 4, for its part, increases its size compared to its predecessor, but reduces its weight by almost one kilogram, in addition to offering up to 34 hours of playback and a power of 100 watts, with an all-terrain body resistant to water and dust.

Finally, the new headphones focus on the JBL Soundgear Sense PRO and Soundgear CLIPS series, with air conduction technology, and JBL Endurance PACE, with an open neckband design.
