Apple has confirmed that it plans integrate more third-party Artificial Intelligence (AI) model options to power its suite of Apple Intelligence AI tools, as well as its revamped version of Siri, which will launch next year.
Those from Cupertino have shared the latest financial results at the end of their fiscal year, obtaining a net profit of $112.01 billion (96,287 million euros), which represents an improvement of 19.5 percent compared to the previous year.
Along with the financial results, Apple CEO Tim Cook has also conveyed some of his plans in relation to the AI advances that the technology company plans to achieve, confirming that will pursue further partnerships with third-party companies to integrate their AI capabilities into Apple Intelligence.
Specifically, the iPhone maker plans to integrate more AI model options from external companies, as it already did with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, to boost its Apple Intelligence tools, as well as the renewed version of Siri. “Our intention is integrate with more people over time“Cook clarified in statements to which CNBC has had access.
Although Apple’s CEO has not shared more information about these partnerships, it should be noted that the company already has been considering some association options in recent months with companies to advance in the AI sector, such as Google Gemini AI, as well as Anthropic and Perplexity, in addition to continuing to support ChatGPT.
Even the manager has also clarified that they are willing to carry out mergers and acquisitions with other companies if this advances their roadmap in relation to AI, as reported by The Verge.
In addition to all this, Cook also recalled during the presentation of the results that the company will launch the updated version of its assistant Siri during the next year 2026, predictably during the spring, and that its development is “progressing adequately.”
