The Pokémon Company today announced the discovery of Mega Lucario Z, a new form that will appear in the Pokémon Legends: ZA – Mega Dimension expansion. This revelation consolidates the evolutionary line of the Mega-Evolved Pokémon Z, characterized by a notable increase in power that ranks them beyond standard Mega Evolutions. Mega Lucario Z is distinguished by long fur around its neck and waist and a forked tail, which, while concealing its rapid movements, can help disorientate opponents. Parts of the body, such as the shins and the backs of the hands, have hardened with steel energy, allowing the Pokémon to deliver enhanced blows.
Fight Dynamics and Specifications
The new Pokémon, classified as a Fighting/Steel-Type Aura Pokémon, features combat dynamics that favor rapid attack at the expense of resistance. Mega-evolved Pokémon Z, in fact: “They take less time to unleash their moves, but consume Mega Energy much more quickly; this makes them unsuitable for fighting for extended periods of time, but a good option when you want to end a fight as quickly as possible.” MegaLucario Z has a height of 1.3 m and a weight of 49.4 kg.

Side Mission: Capture Mewtwo
At the same time as the announcement of the new Mega Evolution, an extra side mission was made available in Pokémon Legends: ZA. Starting today, Trainers can receive Mewtwoite. Once acquired, Mega Stones will activate Mewtwo’s extra mission. According to the company:”Apparently, if players visit the Lysandre Café and go down to explore the more hidden areas of the Lysandre Labs, some systems will react to the presence of the Mega Stones and reactivate.”
Completing this mission will allow players to add the Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo to their team. The Pokémon Legends: ZA – Mega Dimension downloadable content will be available on December 10, 2025 on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch consoles.
