Toyota will invest 912 million dollars to expand production of hybrid vehicles

Toyota bet on the hybrid vehicles. The Japanese firm has announced that it will invest $912 million in five manufacturing plants in the United States dedicated to the production of this type of vehicle.

The purpose is to satisfy the growing demand for these vehicles in the country, says Toyota Motor North America, Inc.

In that sense, The plants that will receive the investment are Buffalo (West Virginia), Georgetown (Kentucky), Blue Springs (Mississippi), Jackson (Tennessee) and Troy (Missouri).

The announced investment is part of the additional investment plan of up to $10 billion in the United States over the next five years, announced on November 13.

According to the company, in the almost 70 years of investment in the United States it is expected to reach almost 60 billion dollars. Additionally, it employs 50,000 people and has been involved in the development and manufacturing of more than 35 million vehicles at 11 manufacturing plants.
