AI, cyber and innovation at the Chamber

The meeting was configured as a moment of strategic and multidisciplinary reflection aimed at exploring the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity and advanced digital solutions in building a more efficient, secure and competitive country system. The objective shared by the participants was to contribute to a true “digital renaissance” capable of generating economic, social and cultural value.

The dialogue saw the participation of a wide audience of institutional representatives, from the academic world and large corporations, highlighting the need for an integrated approach for the digital transition.

Among the speakers were prominent figures such as Fabrizio Spada (Director of Institutional Relations of the European Parliament in Italy), Francesco Tufarelli (General Director of the Presidency of the Council), William Nonnis (PNRR Technical Analyst) and academics such as Prof. Luca Vollero (Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome). The corporate world was represented by notable delegates such as Valentina Podestà (Google), Carlo Cavazzoni (Leonardo), Angela Gargani (FiberCop), Edoardo Cabras (INWIT) and Mauro Giancaspro (ANAS).

The President of ANGI, Gabriele Ferrieri, emphasized the need to act promptly: “In an increasingly interconnected world, Italy must embrace digital innovation not as a challenge, but as an unmissable opportunity to relaunch our global competitiveness. This table represents a concrete step towards a collaboration between public and private that accelerates the transition towards a sustainable and inclusive future“.

In turn, the Hon. Alessandro Giglio Vigna reiterated the institutional commitment: “The European Affairs Commission is committed to supporting policies that integrate AI and cybersecurity into European frameworks, ensuring that Italy is a protagonist of responsible and cutting-edge digitalisation. Events like this are key to translating visions into concrete actions“.

The meeting clearly highlighted the need to address the challenges of digitalisation with a focus on ethics, security and inclusiveness.

ANGI announced that the results of the roundtable will be reworked into an Innovation Paper, intended to be shared with parliamentary commissions and intergroups.
