Robotics is getting ready for CES 2026: LG announces its new CLOiD home robot with precise movements

LG has announced its new LG CLOiD home robot, its latest innovation in home robotics, designed to perform a wide variety of tasks around the home, such as picking up clothes, thanks to its arms, hands and fingers with precise movements.

The company will announce its latest developments for the domestic robotics sector within the framework of the CES 2026 technology fair, which will be held from January 6 to 9 in Las Vegas (United States), in order to bring its vision of a “workless home” closer.

Specifically, LG will unveil its new LG CLOiD robot, designed to make household tasks “more efficient and intuitive,” reducing users’ daily workload and, thereby, allowing them to focus more on people and “the moments that matter.”

Thus, the new robot has a format optimized for current environments and can carry out a wide variety of tasks, as it has two articulated arms driven by motors that offer “seven degrees of freedom” each. This means that it offers a movement similar to natural, as detailed in a statement.

Likewise, it is equipped with five individually operated fingers on each hand, which also provide “advanced dexterity,” as LG has claimed. All of this allows you to carry out “delicate and precise” tasks, such as picking up items of clothing.

To drive these tasks, the CLOiD robot integrates a chip that functions as “the brain of the robot” and is complemented by a screen, a speaker, a camera and a series of sensors, which allow expressive communication with users. In addition, it also includes natural voice interaction and intelligent navigation.

The technology company has detailed that this robot is powered by its own developed Affectionate Intelligence technology, with which it can perceive its environment and act naturally and intuitively, perfecting its responses over time through repeated interactions with the user. In this way, it offers personalized behavior.

With all this, the company has detailed that during CES 2026 it will show a variety of real scenarios of a “workless home” with the help of LG CLOiD.
