Former Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan continues to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Automation Association for the sixth term.
The Vietnam Automation Association Congress elected a new Executive Committee and the Association’s Leadership Board on December 27. At the congress, Mr. Nguyen Quan said he would turn the Association into “a strong social and professional organization” in the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.

The Vietnam Automation Association was established by the Prime Minister in 1994, bringing together thousands of scientists and businesses working in the field of automation.
The Association has the function of consulting, criticism and social appraisal of scientific research projects and topics; Participate in application activities, transfer automation technology, and disseminate knowledge about automation.

Commenting on this organization, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, said that the Association’s reputation “is not only affirmed domestically but also recognized by the international community”. Through scientific conferences, technology forums, consulting activities, policy criticism and business connections, the Association has spread knowledge, promoted the application of technology in production and life, and improved the capacity of businesses.
Sharing at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Quyet Chien, General Secretary of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, expected that in the coming term, the Automation Association will improve the efficiency of scientific research, technology application and development of high-quality human resources. According to him, the Association needs to proactively propose and actively participate in consulting and social criticism, providing arguments and scientific and practical basis to improve guidelines and policies.
