LG presents UltraGear evo monitors, with AI image scaling and a 52-inch 5k model

LG has presented new monitors for ‘gaming’ that incorporate artificial intelligence to scale image quality to 5K without having to depend on updating the GPU, which are accompanied by “the largest 5K2K gaming monitor in the world”, 52 inches.

UltraGear evo is LG’s new series of gaming monitors, which the technology company will present at the CES 2026 consumer electronics fair in Las Vegas (United States), where it will highlight its ability to “expand the limits of high-resolution gaming.”

The monitors of this new series offer 5K resolutions with an artificial intelligence solution integrated into them, which scales the image quality without the need to update the GPU, as reported in a press release.

The first model is the 39-inch LG UltraGear evo GX9 (39GX950B), in which LG has used OLED panel technology with the ‘Primary RGB Tandem’ structure, which uses independent stacks of RGB elements – red, green and blue – to produce light.

With this, LG ensures that its new monitor offers “greater brightness, color accuracy and panel durability with perfect blacks and realistic colors.”

The UltraGear evo GX9 monitor features a 21:9 ultra-wide screen with 1500R curvature, offering a pixel density of 142 ppi and is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified.

It is designed to adapt to different gaming genres with its ‘Dual Mode’, which allows you to seamlessly switch from a refresh rate of 165Hz in 5K2K resolution to 330Hz in WFHD, with an ultra-fast response time of 0.03 ms (GtG).

A second model in the series is the 52-inch LG UltraGear evo G9 (52G930B), “the largest 5K2K gaming monitor in the world,” according to the technology company, which directs it not only to video game players, but also to companies and the medical sector.

This large format monitor offers a 240Hz refresh rate and 1000R curvature to increase immersion. Delivers colors and contrast validated by VESA Display HDR 600.

LG UltraGear evo GM9 27 inches (27GM950B) closes the models with which the UltraGear evo series debuts. It also employs 5K AI upscaling technology, offering 2,304 zones of local dimming that combines with zero optical distance engineering, which minimizes panel-to-LED separation, to deliver high luminance and refined contrast accuracy.

This monitor also supports dual mode, allowing you to switch between 165Hz at 5K resolution and 330Hz at QHD, along with a fast 1ms response time (GtG). It is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified and has a maximum brightness of up to 1,250 nits.
