Recognition: ‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’ is crowned Game of the Year at the Steam Awards 2025

Hollow Knight: Silksong has been awarded the ‘Game of the Year’ award at the Steam Awards 2025overlapping other titles such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 or Kingdom Come Deliverance II, in addition to winning in the ‘Best Difficult Game’ category.

Valve has announced the winners of its annual Steam Awards after the end of 2025, which base their results on the decisions of the gaming community, who vote for their favorite games during the gaming platform’s winter sales.

In this sense, Hollow Knight: Silksong has been awarded the ‘Game of the Year’, which is why it has been selected as the favorite game of the majority of players, standing out above other finalist titles in this award such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 -winner last year-, Kingdom Come Deliverance II, ARC Raiders or Dispatch.

This is because the title type Metroidvania developed by Team Cherry and launched in September 2025 offers features such as immersive gameplay and an “addictive” multiplayer mode, as Steam has detailed in the results.
