Mobileye was chosen by an American manufacturer for advanced driving systems

The systems are expected to be embedded in millions of vehicles around the world as part of future models of the manufacturer in question, with Mobilay estimating that the future scope of supply of systems based on EyeQ6H will amount to more than 19 million units – of which about 9 million are only for the new customer.

The system is expected to be offered as standard equipment in a variety of popular and luxury models, while being integrated into a software-based vehicle architecture. Mobilay emphasizes that compared to the first generation of freeway driving systems, the current solution enables cost reduction and the unification of control units, through the concentration of driving functions and software on one chip and in one ECU unit.

In the background of the announcement are also regulatory changes and the tightening of performance requirements from driver assistance systems, alongside an increase in consumer demand for driving without holding the steering wheel in developed markets. The company estimates that systems of this type will become the next generation of ADAS and will be included as standard in many models in Europe and the United States in the coming years.

Another key element is the use of anonymously collected REM data from vehicles around the world. According to the company, this database covers almost all highways and arterial roads in the United States and Europe, and over 90 percent of the roads in major Asian markets. Currently, more than 8 million vehicles of 18 different car brands participate in the data collection.
