Pikmin coming to Switch 2 with an unexpected Deluxe

Pikmin 3 was born as one of the flagship titles for Wii U before arriving on Switch on October 30, 2020 in an enriched version. The transition to the hybrid console had introduced new narrative content focused on Olimar and Louie, as well as several optimizations for the cooperative mode and difficulty settings designed to make the experience more accessible to newbies. Despite the success of the chapter, Nintendo has so far remained cautious regarding specific improvements for the new generation, keeping fans’ attention high but without precise technical confirmations.

The news comes at a time of particular excitement for the brand, considering that Pikmin 4 recently received a substantial free update. The latter introduced new aesthetic elements derived from Pikmin Bloom and additional features such as the game camera and new difficulty customization options. However, the absence of specific technical enhancements for Switch 2 in the latest chapter of the series makes the move on Pikmin 3 Deluxe even more interesting, leaving it to be hypothesized that Nintendo may opt for a strategy of individual relaunch of individual episodes rather than a massive update of the entire catalog.
