RAM and SSD companies commit not to increase prices in Vietnam

Kingmax and its distributors in Vietnam have agreed not to increase product prices with end users in the first quarter of 2026.

The agreement was made between Kingmax and its distributors and a number of agents in Vietnam on January 6, in which the parties will ensure supply and stabilize prices of RAM memory products and SSD hard drives in the first quarter of 2026.

Recently, RAM and SSD are two computer components that have seen a sharp increase in price, in the context of major technology companies racing to buy these components to serve AI development, while suppliers also prioritize selling to businesses instead of end users.

At the event, a representative of Kingmax Semiconductor said that lack of stock and price increases for RAM and SSD products may occur throughout this year. However, the company decided to stabilize domestic product prices during this period, when Vietnam is one of the company’s priority markets and has a long-term presence.

“This is a beneficial agreement for users in the context of global supply shortages and continuously increasing prices with no end in sight,” said Ms. Le Huong Giang, representative of An Phat retail system.

Kingmax has been present in Vietnam for about 30 years, competing with names like Kingston, Samsung… On the market in early January 2026, the price of Kingmax’s Desktop RAM model starts from about 500,000 VND for 4GB DDR4 2666 Mhz capacity; 240GB SSD hard drive, SATA III, price about 1,200,000 VND.

According to TrendForce’s December 2025 report, RAM and SSD are products that can “increase in price by the day”. The average price of popular product lines such as 8 GB DDR4 RAM increased by 9.52% in the middle week of the month. In early December, Micron, one of the world’s leading semiconductor equipment companies, announced that it would stop producing RAM for consumers, causing product prices to increase sharply.
