Google has announced new functions of Gemini, its artificial intelligence, in Gmail to turn it into a personal assistant y manage inbox of this email service.
In a statement on its blog, the company has explained the updates that will arrive in your email and that will be available to the 3 billion people who use this service around the world.
One of them is ‘AI Inbox’a new view in Gmail that does not replace the traditional one, but rather filter the most important emails to highlight pending tasks and helps the user catch up with a personalized report. For example, an invoice that is due tomorrow will appear to the user first.
Another novelty is ‘AI Overviews’which makes it easy to find information quickly. Simply describe your search in an updated bar and a helpful summary will appear based solely on your Gmail account information. For example, the user can search “Who was the plumber who gave me a quote for a bathroom renovation last year?”, and Gemini will provide a series of email-based responses.
Google has also incorporated the text correction (Proofread)a refinement function assisted writing by artificial intelligence (AI) that helps polish emails with advanced improvements. The feature improves grammar, word choice, conciseness, tone (such as changing from passive to active voice), and sentence structure.
In this line are the Suggested replies with personalization (Suggested Replies)an update of the Smart Replies. Gmail will now use the context of the conversation to offer relevant responses to match the user’s tone and style.
The new function ‘Help Me Write’ uses AI to help compose emails from a only prompt. For example: “Help me write an email to inform my boss about the status of a report.”
All the news is now available in the United States for Gmail users, as well as subscribers of Google AI Pro y Ultra. At the moment it will only be in English, although the company has clarified that in the coming months it will be extended to more languages and regions.
