Now the system will analyze the broad context of the correspondence and offer personalized answers with one click, in a wording that should match the user’s own writing style.

The editing and proofreading tools are also being strengthened. Gmail will offer a more advanced check of grammar, wording and clarity, including the option to shorten texts and make them more focused and direct. Users will be able to ask the system to draft a message based on a general guideline, improve an existing draft or adjust the tone to the recipient.

The current move is part of a broad effort by Google to integrate Gemini into all of its consumer products. The company’s main advantage is its huge user base, which gives it a strong starting point against competitors such as Opan AI and Anthropic. While these companies offer dedicated AI tools, Google embeds the technology directly into everyday services used by billions of people.

This trend is already reflected in the capital market. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, recently overtook Apple in market capitalization for the first time since 2019, amid investor expectations for continued accelerated growth in the field of artificial intelligence. At the same time, the valuation of leading private artificial intelligence companies jumped to hundreds of billions of dollars, a figure that illustrates the intensity of competition in the industry.

However, bringing deep artificial intelligence into the mailbox also raises questions. For some users, automatic summaries and canned responses are a welcome convenience tool.
