The second is Legion Pro Rollable, a gaming concept that goes in the opposite direction: the screen expands horizontally. TechRadar states that the 16-inch display can be stretched to wider formats, with ‘modes’ that aim for an ultrawide feel without an external monitor, and Wired and Engadget describe it as an idea for gamers who travel but want a wider view in games.

Why is this being pushed at all? Because it’s an attempt to get the ‘monitor experience’ without wearing a monitor. For work, the point is more space for documents, tables and vertical scrolling, and for gaming, the point is a wider FOV and more space for HUD and chat. It sounds like a luxury, but anyone who has ever worked on a train or plane knows how much those few extra centimeters can mean.

Of course, all this is still in the concept zone, so there are no clear prices or sales dates. In its announcements for CES 2026, Lenovo positions these rollable models as a ‘proof of concept’ that tests what people really want and how it could be included in future lines.

If you’re looking for something ‘closer to reality’, it’s worth following other approaches to increasing the desktop, say dual screen laptops, where you get a second screen without stretching, but it’s still not the same as a screen that physically expands. CES 2026 was clear in this sense: everyone is chasing the same goal, more space, just with different tricks.
