The X Network is changing policies regarding the use of image editing in Grok

The official announcement was made from X’s safety account and states that technological measures have been implemented to prevent the Grok chatbot from editing photos of real people to appear in revealing clothing, such as bikinis or underwear. According to the company, the block applies to all users, including paying subscribers, and is intended to deal with uses that were considered offensive or illegal.

Musk later added that when the NSFW setting is enabled, partial nudity should only be allowed for fictional adult characters, not real people, similar to what can be seen in R-rated movies on streaming platforms. He noted that policies may vary from state to state depending on local law.

The affair is not limited to the United States. In recent weeks, Malaysia and Indonesia have blocked Grok in their domain, citing safety concerns and the handling of sexual content created through artificial intelligence. The issue is also being examined in the UK, and local regulator Ofcom has announced that it is investigating the tool’s activities, with officials indicating that they would support a similar move to block if it is found that the risks are not being properly addressed.
