Vietnam won three ASEAN Digital Awards 2026

The announcement and awarding ceremony of the 2025 ASEAN Digital Awards was held in Hanoi, on the sidelines of the sixth ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting (ADGMIN).

In the digital startup category, MedCAT Nexus of MedCAT company won the Gold award. MedCAT Nexus is a 3-in-1 solution designed to handle the entire journey from data to insurance claims to patient care. At its core, Nexus is a platform for extracting and processing unstructured data. From there, the system applies disease models, drug models and machine learning to automatically understand contract terms, determine health insurance compensation plans, helping to shorten processing time and improve customer experience.

Vietnam’s second Gold Award went to VCB Tablet of the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), in the digital innovation category. This is a digital platform that helps change the traditional transaction counter model into a mobile, paperless counter. Acting as a mobile service point, VCB Tablet allows staff to support both individual and corporate customers in opening CIF, accounts, registering for digital banking, issuing debit cards and many other services without being limited by any space, even abroad.

Meanwhile, in the public sector category, Elcom company was awarded the Bronze award with Elcom Intelligent Transportation Ecosystem (Elcom ITS). This smart traffic solution applies AI, IoT and big data to monitor, analyze and manage traffic in real time.

After many years of participating, this is the first time Vietnam has a representative winning an award in this category.

Sharing at the award ceremony, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung commented that the ASEAN Digital Award is one of the most successful initiatives in the region.

According to him, when looking at the nominated solutions, he “not only sees simple technology”, but also sees stories about compassionate people and a sense of responsibility for common goals.

The ASEAN Digital Awards are the largest and most prestigious awards in the region for software and digital technology solutions, held annually since 2012, with six categories including public sector, private sector, digital inclusion, digital content, digital startups and digital innovation.

This year, the ADA 2026 final round takes place on January 14 and 15 in Hanoi, with the participation of 18 businesses from many ASEAN countries. Vietnam has 18 products participating in the competition, of which 3 products entered the final round.

Nominations are evaluated according to many strict criteria, focusing on creativity, application effectiveness and value brought to the community, thereby honoring initiatives that contribute to shaping the region’s digital future.

According to the Organizing Committee, the ASEAN Digital Awards are not only recognition for outstanding organizations, businesses and individuals in the field of digital technology, but also aim to promote cooperation, spread effective models and accelerate the digital transformation process in the ASEAN region.

In previous seasons, Vietnam was one of the countries with outstanding achievements, winning many gold and silver awards in various categories. Make in Vietnam products have been honored as online learning platforms, digital agriculture applications or medical AI solutions, contributing to strengthening Vietnam’s technological position in the region.
