ARMO and Rapid7 in collaboration for real-time cloud application security

The Israeli cyber start-up company ARMO and the American cyber company Rapid7 (NASDAQ: RPD) have announced a strategic collaboration, under which ARMO’s runtime application security solution will be embedded in the new threat management and control platform Rapid7 Command.

The collaboration aims to expand Rapid7’s protection envelope in the cloud, enabling organizations to identify threats earlier, improve response times and strengthen their defenses.

ARMO’s platform, based on the open source Kubescape and the CADR system for real-time detection and response, provides advanced capabilities to deal with modern cloud attacks.

Attacks of this type often rely on a combination of small weaknesses in complex and dynamic cloud environments, and the joint solution offers continuous detection of anomalies and immediate response to active threats to applications and cloud assets.

The integration of runtime protection capabilities gives information security, infrastructure and development teams a unified picture of risks and threats, with a built-in mechanism for prioritizing events and a faster response.

The importance of these capabilities is increasing in view of the growing use of artificial intelligence-based applications, which can be analyzed and effectively protected mainly during their operation.

Rapid7 operates a unified platform for information security operations, which includes solutions for managing weaknesses, identifying threats, cloud and application security, and automation. In recent years, the company has strengthened its operations in Israel through the acquisition of Insights and Alcide in 2021 and Minerva Labs in 2023. Today, Rapid7 serves more than 11,000 customers worldwide, including large and medium-sized organizations.

ARMO’s CADR system will allow security teams to identify active attacks in real time – from the code and application layer, through cloud accounts to API attacks, data theft attempts and container hacks.

In addition, the system links real-time attacks with incorrect cloud configurations, security breaches and identity theft, enabling a more accurate and faster response. Capabilities also include isolating hacked applications or stopping malicious processes to prevent lateral spread, as well as simple integration with existing cloud environments such as Azure and AWS.

According to him, the combination between ARMO’s technology and Rapid7’s solutions and customer base is expected to provide organizations with an advanced, innovative and practical cloud and application security solution.
