At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, artificial intelligence is trying to definitively exit the “demo” dimension to become daily infrastructure: at home, at work, on the move and even in data centers.
It’s not just about new gadgets, but about ecosystems that talk to each other assistant “agents” that coordinate actions between devices and a race for power (including energy) that shifts the center of gravity from pure hardware to software orchestration.
An edition that the CTA itself, the association that organizes the event, described as that of the passage “from theory to practical application” of technology in everyday life.
The smart home becomes a system (if brands collaborate)
The theme of interoperability was one of the most obvious common threads: less “showcase houses” and more attempts to really make the pieces work, Together. Samsung opened its Tech Forums focusing precisely on the idea of ”open ecosystems” as the basis for a reliable home AI: when devices arrive from different brands, AI can only be useful if the barriers are broken. At its core, the promise of simpler routines, greater security and measurable savings, including through cross-sector partnerships.
In parallel, the picture told by the specialized media confirms that the game is played on standards and compatibility: from Matter support which expands to new categories, up to locks, thermostats, lamps and hubs designed to combine different protocols.
LG and the “Zero Labor Home”: robots and AI that do, not just respond
If Samsung insists on the ecosystem, LG tries to stage AI “in action”: a strategy that, in intention, takes artificial intelligence off the screen and makes it interact with devices, spaces and services. The symbol is LG CLOiD, rdomestic obot designed to move around the house and help with daily tasks within the “Zero Labor Home” vision, where tasks are delegated to a coordinated system of household appliances.
On the display front, LG also brings back the “Wallpaper” with the OLED evo W6: very thin profile (9 mm) and focus on clean installation and wireless connectivity to reduce cables and clutter.
Bigger and bigger screens, but with AI in the engine
The home entertainment war doesn’t stop: Samsung showed its first at CES 130 inch Micro RGBwith a dedicated AI processing package (Micro RGB AI Engine Pro and color enhancement and HDR functions) and a “gallery” setting, where the TV becomes a piece of furniture.
TCL, for its part, has focused on the progress of the Mini LED family with the new SQD-Mini LED line and record numbers (up to 20,000 dimming zones and peaks of 10,000 nits on the flagship model), also pushing on customization and integration with assistants and services.
The PC reinvents itself: local power to run AI
One of the most recurring messages among the stands is that AI doesn’t always have to live in the cloud: Attention to NPUs and local computing is growing, for reasons of latency, privacy and costs.
HP brought its narrative on the “future of work” to Las Vegas with new AI PCs and a clear objective: to run multiple artificial intelligence applications in parallel thanks to increasingly powerful NPUs (up to 85 TOPS on some platforms), as well as IT management functions and a curious novelty: the integration of Microsoft Copilot on Office Print devices, to summarize, translate and organize documents directly from the printer.
From the “personal” assistant to the “environmental” assistant: Lenovo and the age of agents
The leap in quality that many companies try to sell is that of assistants capable of “doing things” and not just responding. Lenovo made this clear with Qira, described as a level of “ambient intelligence” that crosses PCs, smartphones (Motorola) and wearables, coordinating actions between devices and services. Next, the push on inference: ThinkSystem/ThinkEdge servers optimized to bring AI close to the data, from the data center to the industrial edge.
AR, AR, companion and mobility and mobility: AI follows the user
Among the big names, TCL also tried to carve out space outside the television: RayNeo AR glasses with increasingly “hands-free” functions and a modular “Robot Companion” designed for interaction and home control.
Mobility remains a hot frontier: LG talks about continuity between home, car and commercial spaces, while Lenovo also links AI to sports and entertainmentwith partnerships that focus on more immersive experiences.
The subtext: energy and infrastructure matter as much as devices
Behind the window, the weight of the AI ”supply chain” is growing: cooling, efficiency, consumption management. It is no coincidence that LG has also included high-efficiency HVAC solutions for AI data centers among its priorities. And the post-fair international roundups confirm that, between chips, servers and “strange” products, AI is now the glue that unites almost every announcement.
In summary, a rather clear message comes out of CES 2026: the next wave will not be determined by a single “wow” device, but by how well systems integrate, protect data and transform AI into concrete benefits. To truly convince, technology will have to “disappear” into fluid routines: when everything works, and not when everything shines.
