On the logistics front, the new device integrates with the software function dedicated to secure location sharing with third parties. Apple has partnered with more than fifty airlines, allowing passengers to provide a temporary link to customer service to locate lost or delayed bags. Industrial data indicates that the adoption of this system has already reduced delays in baggage handling by 26%, maintaining high safety standards thanks to access limited to authorized personnel only and the automatic deactivation of the connection once the object has been found.

Privacy protection remains the cornerstone of the accessory, which does not store physical location histories and uses end-to-end encryption to prevent anyone, including the parent company, from accessing information on the device. The system includes advanced protections against unwanted tracking through dynamic identifiers that constantly change to protect user anonymity. The new AirTag is available on the market at the price of 35 euros for the single unit and 119 euros for the pack of four, confirming the possibility of free customization via laser engraving.
