Samsung has announced that it will implement a new privacy layer on your Galaxy smartphones designed for put an end to curious looks in public spaces, since it will hide sensitive data such as passwords or certain pop-up notifications so that only the users themselves can see them when entering them.
At a time when smartphones have become one of the more personal environments for users, The company has reflected the need for increase the protection of data displayed on the screen to keep them away from prying eyes while using it in the elevator, the bus or while waiting in a queue.
Thus, in order to prevent digital life “from being exposed to anyone’s view”, Samsung has announced that it will incorporate a new privacy layer on smartphones that will allow check messages or enter passwords securelyeven in spaces surrounded by people who may be watching.
Specifically, as explained in a statement, the layer will be able be adjusted depending on the desired level of privacy for each person. That is, it will allow you to protect specific applications or actions such as entering access data and passwords for more private areas of the phone.
To do this, it will integrate multiple configurations to adjust the visibility of the data on the screen, so that it allows limit what others can see depending on the level of protection needed. Additionally, it can be completely disabled at any time to show general use.
For example, as you have shown in some videos shared on your website, when entering patterns or passwords, the screen will only be seen clearly from the frontfrom the position of the user who is using the mobile phone, and will prevent content from being viewed from the sides. The same will happen with certain pop-up notifications that may contain sensitive information.
When developing this security layer, Samsung has detailed that it has studied how people use their smartphones, as well as what issues they consider private. So this is a new privacy feature that has been developing for more than five years and which has resulted in a fusion of ‘hardware’ and ‘software’ that protects “without interfering” in the actions of users.
In this sense, it adds to the layers of protection of Galaxy devices, from ‘dedicated security hardware such as Knox Vaulteven ecosystem defenses such as Knox Matrix. At the moment, it has not specified when this technology will be implemented, but it has announced that will arrive “very soon to Galaxy“.
