The price of mobile phones will rise this year due to artificial intelligence

The CEO of the technology company Nothing, Carl Pei, has assured that the price of mobile phones will increase this year because of the artificial intelligencewhich has changed the dynamics in the production of these devices.

Faced with this change, companies have two options: raise prices or cut back on the technical characteristics of the phones. “The ‘more features for less money’ model that many brands relied on is no longer sustainable in 2026,” Pei explained.

For its part, Nothing has already announced that they will raise their prices, mainly due to the use of the UFS 3.1 flash memory standard, but they see this setback as a “great opportunity” to focus on the user experience through the design and feel of the phone beyond the technical characteristics

“As the industry restarts, experience becomes the only real differentiator. That’s exactly what Nothing was created to do,” Pei said.
