In Novska, a big competition in making video games has started

“Although this year’s competition is being held in three cities in Croatia, it was Novska, organized by the PISMO powered by A1 Business Incubator, that once again gathered the largest number of participants. Upon completion, the works are sent to the central Global Game Jam base, and local winners will also be announced in Novska,” the organizers stated.

Mayor of Novska, Marija Kušmiš, said that Novska is recognized as a city of gaming. “Young people come here, stay and build their careers. Such competitions are an opportunity for new acquaintances, networking and experiences that last a lifetime. The city of Novska is your partner and support in the development of your ideas,” she said.

“On Sunday, we expect a lot of interesting games. We are in the process of building the Gaming Industry Center in the business zone and we believe that in the future we will be able to organize an e-sports competition with 2,500 participants,” said the director of the Public Institution Regional Coordinator SMŽ Andreja Šeperac on behalf of Sisčko-Moslavinačke županije.

Establishesč of VIDI magazine, Tomislav Kotnik emphasized the importance of experience and passion in game development: “I’ve been here since the very beginning and I always get involved because this is one of the best things for gaming in Croatia. The most important thing is that you make games that you want to play and that you enjoy. The idea is only a small part of the whole story – you have a long way of learning and working ahead of you.” he ordered.

The professional evaluation of the works is in charge of a team consisting of: Tomislav Božić (Croteam), Zoran Đurović (GD Entertainment), Darjan Kosić (Todays Games) and Dominik Cvetkovski (ANIQ, regional organizer of the Global Game Jam for Southeast Europe).

The competition ends on Sunday with the announcement of the winner of the local edition, while all developed projects will become part of the Global Game Jam global database.

Apart from Novska, the competition in Croatia is also held in Rijeka and Zagreb.
