iPhone Air’s sales tripled after continuous price reductions

“After the price adjustment at the end of December, iPhone Air purchasing power increased three times compared to the previous period,” said Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, representative of CellPhoneS. At other large systems such as FPT Shop and Mobile World, iPhone Air sales were recorded to increase sharply and returned to a central position in Tet sales compared to previous plans.

Surveying the market in early February, the price of iPhone Air continued to decrease by nearly one million VND compared to more than two weeks ago, to about 24.8-25.3 million VND. This price adjustment took place simultaneously with the iPhone 17 generation, in which the regular version decreased by about 500,000-700,000 VND while the Pro and Pro Max lines decreased by 600,000 VND.

In the portable market, iPhone Air also continuously lowers prices according to the developments of genuine products, sometimes dropping deeply to 22 million VND. However, after the market suddenly “collapsed” in price, Apple phones increased again and currently hold the mark of 23.5 million VND for models purchased from the US market.

Quan Ngo, owner of a store selling Apple devices on Nguyen Thien Thuat Street, Ban Co Ward (HCMC), said many iPhone Air versions are currently sold out due to an unexpected increase in demand. “Recent sales of iPhone Air have doubled, even higher than iPhone 17,” he said.

“The reversal of iPhone Air sales shows that the new price has met the needs of users,” Mr. Hoang Tuan, owner of a long-time Apple store on Hue Street (Hanoi), commented, adding that the new development contributes to confirming that Apple has priced the iPhone Air incorrectly from the beginning.

Instead of focusing on a large screen and good battery like the Plus series, the Air series is considered more personal and outstanding with its ultra-thin and light design and is also the only model to use a titanium frame. However, the device is controversial because of its battery capacity and only one camera, less than the standard iPhone 17 despite its higher price.

Although selling slower than the other models launched in the same September 2025, iPhone Air still has stable sales compared to high-end Android models, only less than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra. It was expected to replace the previous Plus line, but initial sales were lower, putting pressure on many retail systems.

Receiving good signals from iPhone Air, but the smartphone market near Tet in general is not really positive. A senior manager of a phone company with a large market share in Vietnam revealed recent survey results showing that demand for phones in the entire market decreased compared to the same period last year, while this is usually the period when purchasing power increases the most of the year.
