Croats bought 11.5% fewer vehicles in January, hybrids are the best sellers, and this model is at the top

In the first month of this year, Škoda sold the most new passenger vehicles, 515 of them, so that manufacturer holds about 13 percent of the total Croatian market. The second is Volkswagen, which sold only one vehicle less, the third is Toyota with the sale of 306 cars and a share in total sales of 7.7 percent.

Fourth place is held by Suzuki (258 sold vehicles and a share of 6.5 percent), fifth is Opel (209 sold and a share of 5.3 percent).

VW T-Cross was the best-selling model in January 2026, as 190 customers chose this vehicle. The second is Škoda Octavia, which was registered 163 times, the third is Suzuki Vitara (132).

The list of the best-selling models, with more than a hundred sold in January, is closed by the Suzuki Sx4, with 112 sold.

In January, two Aston Martins and a Bentley each were sold from the investors.

Although on a small base, hybrids started the year with a victory over gasoline engines. In January, 1,815 hybrids were sold, or 46 percent of the total sales, while 1,481 customers, or 37.5 percent, chose the gasoline engine.

Diesels are still preferred by 451 customers, i.e. 11.4 percent of them, and fully electric vehicles by 145 of them or 3.7 percent. Gas-powered vehicles are in demand, of which 54, or 1.4 percent, were sold in the first month of this year.
