Xiaomi 17 Ultra can be sold in Vietnam at the end of February

Xiaomi can introduce and sell the 17 Ultra in Vietnam around February 26-29, equivalent to international markets such as Europe and nearly two months later than China.

There is currently no information about price or genuine versions that will be sold. Last year, the Chinese company also brought 15 Ultra to Vietnam at the same time as the European market but only had one version priced at 35 million VND.

The device was launched in China on December 25, 2025 with two versions, including the standard version with three configuration options, priced from 6,999 yuan (26.2 million VND) and the special 17 Ultra Leica Edition with two configuration options, priced from 7,999 yuan (29.8 million VND).

Although it will sell the highest-end model, the 17 Ultra, in Vietnam, Xiaomi will likely skip the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max lines due to the assessment that it is “not the right stage”. The Pro series duo launched in September 2025, the same month Apple announced the iPhone 17 and have a similar naming scheme. Xiaomi 17 Pro makes a strong impression with the rear secondary screen design next to the camera and interesting effects, but is only available on the portable market for 19-23 million VND.

The Vietnamese market right after Tet is likely to welcome two notable high-end smartphones running Android at the same time, Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung phones are expected to be announced on February 25 before going on sale in early March. The high-end Android phone segment is considered to have many “talented” players, along with Vivo X300 Pro and Oppo Find X9 Pro.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra has an outstanding design with a large round camera cluster, and top parameters are the one-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor, co-developed with Leica, 50 megapixel resolution and 14 EV dynamic range. The device also has a 200 megapixel telephoto camera with Leica continuous optical zoom lens, supporting lossless zoom of 75-100 mm, maximum digital zoom of 400 mm. The system is Leica APO certified, has a 3G + 5P floating lens structure and supports telephoto macro shooting at a distance of 30 cm. The other camera is super wide angle with 50 “dot” resolution, 115 degree viewing angle and supports 5 cm macro.

Along with the standard version, Xiaomi has a special version 17 Ultra Leica Edition aimed at photography lovers. This version has the signature Leica red dot logo, two-tone black and ivory white back inspired by the famous Leica M series. The grain pattern is precisely machined to recreate the feeling of rotating the focus ring on a Leica lens.

The device also integrates a mechanical Master Zoom Ring to help adjust focus, white balance and exposure. The software features an exclusive Leica Moment mode with M9-style colors, M3 and Monopan 50 black-and-white film simulation, and a 3:2 aspect ratio.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra weighs 223.4 grams, is 8.29 mm thick and is the thinnest device in the Ultra series. Other equipment includes an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the screen, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and satellite communication support (works in China). The device meets IP66, IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance standards.

The screen has a size of 6.9 inches with an OLED LTPO M10 panel, resolution of 2,608 x 1,200 pixels, maximum brightness of 3,500 nit, support for HDR10 +, Dolby Vision and adaptive scanning frequency from 1 to 120 Hz. Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with two Oryon cores, the cooling system uses a dual-loop liquid pump to increase heat conduction efficiency by 50%.

In the Chinese market, the device has a 6,800 mAh battery, but according to rumors from GSMArenathe international version can be reduced to 6,000 mAh. The device supports 90W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, 22.5W wired reverse charging and 20W wireless reverse charging, compatible with the universal 90W PPS standard.
