Townfall, the psychological horror moves to Scotland in 2026

Konami and Annapurna Interactive have formalized the release of Silent Hill: Townfall, confirming the arrival of the title for 2026 on PlayStation 5 and PC. After the mysterious debut teaser dating back to 2022, the project signed by the Screen Burn Interactive studio showed itself with new details that define the contours of a complete and self-contained psychological horror experience. The setting abandons the classic locations to move to the cold and isolated context of Scotland, trying to evolve the canons of the series while keeping intact the key themes linked to mystery, personal tragedy and the sense of loss.

The narrative features Simon Ordell as the protagonist, a man called back to the island of St. Amelia with the dark task of remedying unspecified mistakes of the past. Upon his arrival, Simon finds a ghostly town, immersed in a thick fog and apparently lifeless, but haunted by disturbing presences. The only objects in his possession are an IV bag and a medical identification bracelet, elements that suggest a clinical or traumatic link with the current events. The only guiding tool in this desolate scenario is represented by the voices coming from an old portable cathode ray tube television, recovered during the journey.

The gameplay, entirely adopting the first-person perspective, focuses on tension-filled exploration and a survival system based on limited resources. Players will have to manage a small set of weapons and tools with extreme caution, among which the small CRTV stands out, used to tune into unstable signals and decipher environmental clues. The structure of the work alternates phases of furtive evasion with frenetic combat, integrating narrative puzzles aimed at reconstructing the fragments of a buried truth that Simon is forced to resurface to understand his connection with the inhabitants of the island.
