Gemini adds Lyria 3 to Gemini to generate 30-second AI music tracks from text and images

Google has announced the incorporation of the new artificial intelligence model Lyria 3 to Gemini, which allows users to create musical tracks generated by AI with a duration of 30 seconds, as well as a cover image generated by Nano Banana.

The Lyria 3 beta It is available from this Wednesday in the Gemini application. To use it, users must enter a command like “create a rock song about being lazy when you wake up early on a Monday,” and Gemini will create a short musical track.

Furthermore, users can use images to make the content of the song more specific. For example, the user uploads a photo of their pet and Gemini can include its physical features to create a song with greater personalization. Beyond music generation with Lyria 3, Gemini leverages AI imager capabilities Nano Banana to create a cover according to the content of the song or its style.

“The goal of these tracks is not to create a musical masterpiece, but to give you a fun and unique way to express yourself,” Google explained in a statement on its blog.

Furthermore, Lyria 3 is also available on YouTube’s ‘Dream Track’ feature, where it can be used to create music tracks for videos in Shorts.

Despite the limited length of music tracks, up to 30 seconds, Lyria 3 allows users edit different elementssuch as voice, time, instruments, lyrics or even language, since it is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese, although Google has announced that they will progressively include more.

All content generated with Lyria 3 has ‘SynthID’an “invisible” watermark from Google, which allows AI-generated content to be identified. “In addition, we offer more tools to identify AI-generated content, expanding our verification capabilities in the Gemini app to include audio, images and videos,” the company clarified.

Regarding the ethical challenges that Google faces regarding the generation of this type of content, the company has clarified that Tracks created with Lyria 3 are designed for “original expression, not imitating existing artists.” For example, if a user asks: “Create a Queen-style song,” Gemini will try to recreate the British band’s type of music.

“Although I cannot directly replicate the work of specific artists, I have captured that theatrical and grandiose essence that you were looking for. I have designed an ‘Arena Rock’ track with a massive production: powerful pianos that set the rhythm, electric guitars with dizzying harmonies and, of course, a wall of choral voices,” Gemini responded to the previous example.

At the moment the beta version of Lyria 3 is available in the Gemini app for over 18 years old in the desktop version, although it will be expanded to the mobile application in the coming days.
