Apple announces the new iPad Air with M4 chip

The internal architecture benefits from an increase in unified memory, which rises to 12 GB with a bandwidth of 120 GB/s. This configuration is designed to support the new artificial intelligence features integrated into the operating system thanks to a significantly more powerful 16-core Neural Engine. Improved data management allows you to run AI models directly on the device with greater efficiency, facilitating everyday tasks such as searching for content in images or transcribing texts, as well as enhancing creative tools for manipulating multimedia files.

On the connectivity front, the introduction of the proprietary N1 and C1X chips enables support for the Wi-Fi 7 standard for the first time on this line and improves the stability of 5G cellular networks. The tablet also gains full compatibility with iPadOS 26, which introduces a more intuitive window management system and the Liquid Glass interface, designed to react dynamically to user input. The software optimizes the use of screen space and makes it easier to organize documents through an enhanced version of the Files app and the integration of Quick Folders directly into the Dock.

The user experience is completed with support for flagship accessories, including the Apple Pencil Pro and the Magic Keyboard with integrated trackpad. The 12 MP front camera with Center Stage automatic framing has been repositioned on the long side to facilitate horizontal use during video calls. The new iPad Air will be available to order starting Wednesday 4 March, with the first deliveries scheduled for 11 March.
