X adds an option in iOS to prevent Grok from modifying images shared in posts

The microblogging platform owned by Elon Musk allows you to use your Grok chatbot to manipulate the images shared by other users on the social network and, after that, publish said modified content as a response to the original publication.

Now, the social network has begun to introduce a new option in the image upload settings of the X application for iOS, which, when activated, allows you to prevent Grok from modifying the images shared in the publication.

This is the ‘Block Grok modifications’ option, which prevents the AI ​​assistant from being able to generate an alternative version of the content in question, as seen from Social Media Today and The Verge.

As a result, turning it on prevents other users from responding to the post by tagging ‘@Grok’ and requesting that they modify the images. Therefore, it prevents variations of the content shared through this system from being carried out.

To find the new tool, The Verge has clarified that, once the image is uploaded, the user must touch the brush button that appears at the bottom and, after that, select the flag icon in the editing taskbar. Once the options are displayed, the ‘Block Grok modifications’ section must be activated.

According to the aforementioned media’s tests, neither free users nor X Premium subscribers can edit images with Grok if blocking has been enabled. However, for the moment, this new function has been displayed exclusively in the version of X for devices with the iOS operating system, but is not available in the web or Android version. The feature has not been officially announced either.

Likewise, it should be noted that, despite this blocking option, users can still continue editing the published image directly through the Grok application, instead of responding to the publication.
