Microsoft temporarily stops the automatic installation of the Microsoft 365 Copilot app on Windows

Microsoft has temporarily disabled automatic installation of the Microsoft 365 Copilot app on Windows 11 no reactivation date, presumably due to complaints from commercial users.

The Microsoft 365 Copilot application integrates Copilot’s artificial intelligence directly into the technology company’s office automation and productivity applications, through chat and generative functions.

Microsoft decided last year that the application would be installed automatically in Windows 11 for those users who had Microsoft 365 installed, with a progressive rollout that began in October and would accelerate in December.

However, through a notification in the administrators panel, the company notified of the temporary cessation of the deployment, as reported by the specialized portal Windows Latest.

The reason seems to be found in Complaints filed by business customersthat is, professional equipment for companies and the educational sector, which usually have broader management options, which allow them to activate and deactivate updates and functions.

In February it was learned that Microsoft was debating internally whether to continue with the strategy implementation of Copilot in Windows 11 after it was rejected by some users and the failures that the operating system presented after the January update.
