FPT started construction on an educational complex in Hai Phong

At the groundbreaking ceremony on the morning of March 19, FPT representative said that the complex is oriented to provide training from high school to university and post-graduate levels, associated with key technologies such as artificial intelligence, network security, data science, semiconductor technology… and career fields that the locality has development advantages.

Attending the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized that in the context of global competition shifting strongly to core technology and high-quality human resources, the development of educational complexes associated with technology and businesses such as FPT’s project is a direction with long-term strategic significance, which should be identified as an important component of development infrastructure, and closely tied to the practical needs of the locality.

He suggested that Hai Phong city continue to improve institutions, policies and create conditions for this model to be effective. He also expected that FPT would not only train human resources to meet market needs but also contribute to training a team capable of mastering, creating and leading technology, thereby improving the national capacity for technological autonomy.

FPT Hai Phong educational complex is located in Phu Lien ward, south of the city. On a land area of ​​about 10 hectares, the project spends about 2.8 hectares for construction, the rest is for auxiliary works, sports, and green space. In particular, the administrative block is 13 floors high, along with a system of lecture halls and dormitories that directly serve teaching and learning activities for students.

Phase one of the complex is expected to operate in early 2027. Once completed, the complex can meet the learning needs of more than 5,800 students. General education is expected to contribute to expanding opportunities to access an educational environment associated with technology and digital skills for students in Hai Phong and surrounding areas.

In addition, the implementation of undergraduate and postgraduate training here also contributes to expanding high-level learning opportunities for learners in the region, serving the goal of developing high-quality local human resources.

Mr. Vu Tien Phung, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee, said that the city determines that education and training, especially developing high-quality human resources, is the foundation for improving competitiveness and sustainable development. Attracting large corporations to invest in high-quality educational complexes, according to him, is a strategically significant solution.

In the Northern region, Hai Phong is the first centrally run city with the presence of a large-scale educational complex invested and deployed by FPT, training a full range of systems from high school, college to university.
