The new version of the technology exchange connects research institutes, universities, businesses, investors and service organizations, becoming a place to “buy and sell” intellectual property.
On the morning of March 20, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology launched a new version of the technology trading floor at the Creative Startup Center (Sihub), Xuan Hoa ward, with the participation of central and city leaders and representatives of research institutes, universities and businesses.
The online trading platform is located at techport.vn is a place to introduce technology from institutes, schools, businesses, investors and service organizations. Here, parties can introduce, search, transfer and commercialize research results, technology solutions, equipment and intellectual property.

Developed from the Techport platform, the floor has formed an ecosystem with thousands of businesses, institutes, schools and organizations participating. Before upgrading, the system recorded more than 280,000 supply and demand connections, received thousands of needs and shared nearly 3,000 technologies and devices on the national floor, expanding the scope of connection nationwide.
Mr. Lam Dinh Thang, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, said that the new generation technology trading floor is not only an upgrade in technical infrastructure, but also a comprehensive change in the way it operates in a more professional and transparent direction.
According to him, the biggest point is that the floor does not simply play the role of an online connection between supply and demand, but is organized as an ecosystem with clear processes. In particular, professional consulting units participate from the beginning to support businesses in need and product suppliers to find suitable partners. At the same time, the entire transaction process is monitored and monitored to ensure openness, transparency and efficiency.
The floor also strengthens intermediary departments such as consulting and technology brokers to help the connection become more substantive, instead of just stopping at the level of information introduction. In addition, online consulting channels will continue to be developed, along with support departments to bring units and products from direct transactions to the digital environment, aiming to form contracts with specific economic value.
According to Mr. Thang, the technology trading floor is like a “technology market”, where many types of products with different qualities are concentrated. Therefore, to ensure prestige, the organizing committee has developed a clear set of criteria for participating units, such as legal requirements, intellectual property, and patents.
In addition, the floor has a specialized department to evaluate and evaluate the authenticity and effectiveness of products. A team of experts and businesses in the field of science and technology also participate in independent consulting, helping to ensure that the products listed on the floor have practical value.
At this exchange, an effective connection mechanism between the “three houses” including the State, schools and businesses is established. In particular, the State plays the role of building mechanisms, operating the platform and connecting the ecosystem; Universities can bring research products, initiatives of lecturers, students and startups to the floor; The business both provides products and orders research from the school.
“This model helps increase the ability to commercialize research results, bringing science and technology products to market faster and more effectively,” Mr. Thang said.
In addition to the online platform, the floor continues to maintain direct connection activities such as Techmart, technology demonstrations, seminars and supply-demand connection programs, creating a space for substantive interaction between parties.

According to Mr. Chu Thuc Dat, Deputy Director of the Department of Innovation (Ministry of Science and Technology), the Technology Exchange is identified as an important intermediary institution, playing a “nuclear” role connecting technology supply and demand. Through the floor, technology transfer, demonstration and introduction activities are regularly organized, contributing to spreading knowledge and technological solutions into production and business practices.
Currently, the country has 19 science and technology exchanges, of which 18 are local. Connecting data between exchanges is gradually forming a unified technology market, helping businesses and organizations easily search, compare, and choose technology, shorten transaction time and improve connection efficiency.
Evaluating the new version of Ho Chi Minh City Technology Exchange, he said that this is not only a technical upgrade but also a shift in operating model. The floor aims to be a platform that integrates data, information and technology services in a synchronous and transparent manner, creating convenience for participating parties.
