Mexico launches the Xoli chatbot to guide tourists ahead of the 2026 World Cup

Looking ahead to the 2026 Soccer World Cup, the Government of Mexico City presented this Thursday Xoli, a chatbot that seeks to guide tourists in real time about activities, culture and mobility in the Mexican capital, which next June will host the opening match of the tournament that Mexico organizes together with the United States and Canada.

The tool offers 24-hour attention and allows you to consult information about museums, events, transportation, gastronomy and cultural activities in Spanish and English, detailed in a statement the Digital Agency for Public Innovation of Mexico City, which developed it in coordination with the Secretariats of Culture and Tourism.

The chatbot was proposed as an “open window” to the city and an alternative to guide visitors during the World Cup, although it will remain “as a permanent option for tourism.”

“Mexico City offers tourists and visitors more than 3,000 activities every day; this chatbot helps make this offer a more orderly experience,” said the capital’s Secretary of Tourism, Alejandra Frausto.

Xoli can be used through WhatsApp, by sending a message to the phone number +5255 6565 9395, or on the city’s official Tourism website, where it is possible to ask open questions or search for activities by date to plan tours.

“The Chatbot understands natural language, so it can respond to queries such as: ‘What museums do you recommend I visit with children?’ or ‘Where can I find concerts this weekend?’” the statement said.

The tool allows you to consult everything from cultural events and concerts to transportation options or activities for children, as well as data on mobility, climate and recommendations for visitors.

Likewise, it offers information organized by categories such as museums; restaurants and gastronomy; hotels and lodging; sports and FIFA 2026; cultural events; festivals; literature; cinema and traditions, among others.

Finally, the capital authorities pointed out that the chatbot seeks to streamline access to tourist information and reduce search times for visitors, while “improving the image of technological modernization” of the city.
