Forza Horizon 6 Hardware Requirements Released, Coming to PS5

Studio Playground Games has released the full system requirements for the PC version of Forza Horizon 6, which is expected to be released in less than two months. Similar to its predecessor, gamers will be able to choose between several levels of hardware specifications, from minimal to the “Extreme RT” configuration intended for the most powerful computers.

Race through the streets of Japan on all platforms

Forza Horizon 6 will take players to the streets of Japan, with a focus on the detailed recreation of Tokyo and its surroundings. The game will be officially released on May 19, 2026 for PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Players who purchase the Premium Edition can start playing four days earlier, but from May 15. In a major twist for the franchise, Microsoft has confirmed that the game will be released for the PlayStation 5 later in 2026, continuing their new multiplatform strategy.

The developers also confirmed that the game is optimized for portable computers like Steam Deck and ROG Ally and will support synchronization of progress between all platforms.

The published requirements show that the game is scalable and adapted to a wide range of hardware, from affordable configurations to the most modern computers.

Minimum requirements to play

In order to run Forza Horizon 6 in 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second on low settings, you will need a computer with an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor. As for graphics cards, you are looking for an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650, AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT or Intel Arc. A380. 16 GB of working memory, SSD for data storage and Windows 10 or 11 version 22H2 or later are also required.

Recommended configuration for high detail

For comfortable gaming at high settings in 1440p resolution at 60 or more frames per second, Playground Games recommends Intel Core i5-12400F or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processors. Graphical requirements increase on Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or Intel Arc A580. The amount of working memory remains 16 GB, and an SSD is still mandatory.

Extreme performance for 4K gaming

Games aiming to play in 4K resolution with more than 60 frames per second on “Extreme” settings will need significantly stronger hardware. According to the official announcement, Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processors, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card and 24 GB of RAM with a fast NVMe SSD are required.

There is also a special “Extreme RT” category for those who want to play with it turned on ray tracing effects. For that experience, you will need a new generation graphics card, such as Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT, with 32 GB of working memory. The game will support advanced technologies such as Ray-Traced Global Illumination and the latest versions of NVIDIA DLSS 5 and AMD FSR 4 systems to improve performance.
