American humanoid robot appears with Melania Trump

“I am grateful to be a part of this historic event to empower children with technology and education,” Figure 03 said at the Fostering the Future Together program held in the East Room at the White House, with greetings in 11 different languages.

Mrs. Melania emphasized that Figure 03, belonging to the Figure AI company, is the first US-made humanoid robot to visit the White House. The appearance of the machine demonstrates the government’s importance in promoting agencies and large technology companies to cooperate in using artificial intelligence to teach students.

“Very soon, artificial intelligence will move from our mobile phones to humanoid robots capable of bringing practical benefits,” said Melania.

The US First Lady envisions that, in the near future, a robot teacher can access a subject database in real time, then provide personalized lessons based on each student’s learning speed and “emotional state”.

“We can accelerate the advance of civilization when businesses deliver innovation, governments create scale, and capital markets fund the distribution of these emerging technologies,” she said.

Melania has appeared more recently than during Donald Trump’s first presidential term. Recently, she has organized many events related to AI and child protection on the Internet, as well as participated in a number of non-profit projects and released books with narrative content using AI.

Figure 03 is Figure AI’s newest robot, capable of starting quickly, turning smoothly and braking suddenly when running in a block. The machine is designed for mass production, ready to operate in home and industrial environments. The robot is 173 cm tall and is an upgraded version of Figure 02 with a more sensitive sensor system, softer appearance and better coordination, 9% lighter weight, soft and flexible hands, equipped with fingertip sensors to detect extremely light pressure, only 3 grams, approximately the weight of a paperclip.
