The company Meta announced new features in WhatsApp that include artificial intelligence

The update will allow users to receive suggestions for changing the tone of voice or rewording messages based on the content of the conversation, and also to perform graphic editing operations such as changing the background or removing objects from images using the Meta company’s system.

The most notable change concerns the writing tool, which will now be able to offer full text for messages based on the context of ongoing conversations. The system allows users to ask the artificial intelligence to clarify the message, change the linguistic style or proofread before sending. This feature will be accessed through the chat bar, where a dedicated icon will appear indicating the operation of the artificial intelligence.

The company stated that the use of this tool will not harm the encryption of the calls and that the content will remain private, even though the system processes the information for the purpose of the wording proposal. Meanwhile, Meta aims to offer an internal solution to users who usually use external tools to write messages, thus keeping the activity within the application itself.

In the field of handling media files, WhatsApp adds editing options to images with the help of artificial intelligence. Users will be able to perform actions such as removing items from the image, using different visual styles or changing the background automatically within the conversation window.

In addition, the app will start suggesting specific stickers while typing certain emojis, to allow users to quickly replace the emoji with a matching sticker. These tools, based on Meta’s models, will be available at this stage only in countries where the company’s AI services have been officially launched.

Besides the changes in the conversation interface, the update includes solutions for managing the device and data. WhatsApp will now allow you to manage the storage volume individually within each conversation, and not just through the general settings menu. Users will be able to identify which files are taking up the most space in a particular chat, and choose to delete only the media files while keeping the text message history. This is a change that may help users who encounter memory problems on their device due to multiple groups and calls loaded with media.

For iPhone users, the update brings two options that were previously only available on Android devices. One is the ability to run two different WhatsApp accounts on the same device at the same time, which makes it easier to separate a personal number from a business number. The second option is official support for transferring call history between different operating systems, so that all information can be transferred from iPhone to Android and from the other side without data loss.

WhatsApp is also updating the way the application offers content to the user. The system will know how to identify patterns in use and offer relevant tools in real time, such as identifying the need to free up space when the storage volume in a particular call exceeds 80% of the average capacity.

Bama said that the new features will be gradually distributed to all users in the coming period. Some of the AI-based capabilities depend on regulatory approval in different countries, so there may be differences in feature availability between different geographic regions.
