A MIRACLE FROM FRANCE They found a new Renault 5 in the garage, after 43 years it traveled 12 kilometers

As they state on the Instagram page dedicated to cars, Phares jaunes et Damiers, the story actually began in 1982 when the modest Mrs. M. decided to spend her savings on a new car. In the salon in Chalon-sur-Saône, she ordered a Renault 5, then a practical model with five doors, but also in a rare metallic blue color. It cost her almost 40,000 francs.

They delivered the car literally to her house because she didn’t have a driver’s license, she had just failed the test. Although she later put it down, she never felt safe behind the wheel. Renault ended up in the stable at the end of October 1982 and remained there for a full 43 years.

– She didn’t drive it. She didn’t move it. She didn’t even turn it on. Even permanent registrations remained in the trunk – they state on the page.

Time passed, but the mileage remained the same as the first day. 12 kilometers.

When they finally discovered it, the scene was as if time stood still. There were still intact paper carpets inside. The car was saved from possible destruction during the probate proceedings, and the family plans to sell it at an auction at the end of March.
