YouTube shows 90-second non-skippable ads on your TV

YouTube has shown some users unskippable ads lasting up to 90 seconds, which do not currently fit into its own policies.

Some users have shared their recent experience with YouTube and the advertising that this streaming service displays in the free plan, in which, according to the company’s own policies, the ads displayed last up to 30 seconds.

In fact, at the beginning of March, Google announced new formats optimized with artificial intelligence, which included that for televisions, these advertising content would have a duration of 30 seconds without the possibility of skipping them. And its application was global.

Despite this, some users have shared on Reddit that YouTube for connected televisions has shown them ads of up to 90 seconds that had to be watched in their entirety to continue playing the video.

This new duration does not seem to have reached mobile phones or the desktop version of the streaming video service, but it does not have an official comment from Google, so it may be an error or a test.
