A yacht from the 1980s, with the most modern equipment inside and a price of 450,000 euros. This is how the first serial Tedson Daydream could be briefly described, the “restomod” of the Porsche 911 from the 964 series, which on Monday came from the Tedson Motors workshop of the entrepreneur from Samobor Goran Turkić (47) went to the customer. He was willing to pay the stated amount for this car, mostly because it is a “restomod” – a completely restored old model car with new and modern components.
– The first Tedson Daydream was transported to the New York Auto Show on Monday, and then it goes to the customer – Turkić told us, who also organized a mini event to say goodbye to Daydream.
However, one Daydream sticks with it, and that’s the one that is in January, the whole of Croatia metand when Turkić himself broke it on the Sava embankment. Then he fell off the road while filming video material with a drone.
– We wanted to take one more shot for the end, but there was gravel on the road and I was thrown to the side in a bend. It wasn’t about children’s frolicking, but recording material for the market – Turkić tells us as he proudly stands next to the first serial Tedson Daydream with 390 hp.
As he says, he has been drawing cars for as long as he can remember, but he still went to America to study physics.
He bought his first 911 in 2015 which he just restored and then bought a 930 series.
It was the first restomod for which they still offer a carbon fiber bodykit. But he concluded that the 930 was not developed enough for serious refinements, so Daydream was created on the newer platform of the 964 series.
– We have already presented the prototype at the prestigious fair in Monte Carlo. This is one of the most prestigious exhibitions of luxury cars in the world. It takes place under the auspices of Prince Albert II., but it is also visited by a serious clientele – concludes Turkić, who parked his Daydream worth 450.00 euros at the fair alongside the celebrated Aston Martin Valhalla and Maserati MC20, the new McLaren Artura and many others.
They offer three types of drives, the car finished earlier
Although the deadline was 12 months, the team at Tedson Motors did it in four months, and they offer as many as three types of drives.
Refined 3.6, 3.8 or 4.0-liter boxer engine with up to 390 hp. On offer is a hybrid developed in cooperation with the company Vonnen from Silicon Valley, which consists of a boxer 4.0 with 390 hp, an electric flywheel with an additional 150 hp and a 1 kWh battery installed in the front.
– The same system works for today’s liquid-cooled 911, and we refined it and harmonized it with the air-cooled engine from the 964 series. The third electric version is in cooperation with Revive Automotive from Hamburg, which also works on technology for Volkswagen ID – said Turkić and added that this means that it can be registered anywhere in the world, because it has a TÜV certificate and a German E-plate.
Of course, they also offer a guarantee.
A fighter living in Zagreb, even though he is living his boyhood dream, he had to take a lot of risks.
– There were challenges and risks, but we are really proud of the product. You can understand a project like this if you love cars, so those who were supposed to be delighted, were delighted. Support means a lot, a lot of time and money has been invested – concludes Turkić.
